Auditions and Shows

  • Your dream? To dance in the world famous Carnival: the Choreographer's Ball.
  • Choreography and wardrobe will be age appropriate.  Although trendy and cool, we will not use overtly sexual music, routines or costumes.  We do not believe that these are the only ways to show off talents and get connections in the industry.
  • "It was at Carnival that the producers of "You Got Served" spotted Robert James Hoffman II (Step Up II), landing him his first big-screen choreography credit.
  • Dancers from every corner of the globe go to Los Angeles to try and make it in the biz, and their first stop is Carnival.  Carnival spans genres with routines in everything from ballet to modern dance, martial arts to hip hop.  With over 120 dancers and 18 choreographers contributing to the event, Carnival brings you the hottest collection of dance from the industry's best.
  • Part nightclub, part talent show, Carnival now in its' 11th year, features a who's who of local dancers pirouetting, gyrating and popping-and-locking for the audience.  The legendary Avalon Hollywood claims bragging rights to infamous headliners including The Rolling Stones, Prince, Tina Turner and the Beastie Boys and is the new home of Carnival.
  • Funky costumes will be designed by Sodaliscious whose fashions can be seen on the red carpet at the Emmys and the Oscars on many Hollywood stars from 90210, Dexter, the Young and the Restless and Hannah Montana.
  • Your make up and hair will be professionally done by top L.A. stylists for the show.
  • Following the performance, stay and watch the rest of the Carnival show and network with other dancers, choreographers and industry decision makers.
  • Interested dancers will be considered for “Shabba-Doo’s” Battle for the Streets, a film by David Winters (West Side Story), filming in Los Angeles over the summer. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. This film is looking for dancers from all over the world.
  • Attend auditions and/or work on a live set if you fit the type being cast.  In 2004, the dancers attended Christina Aguilera auditions and in 2005, some of the dancers were background performers on the feature film Walk The Talk.  In 2007, Marques Houston sat in on a class looking for dancers and scouted Talia Adler-Magat, who was invited to audition for him and for You Got Served director Chris Stokes.  In 2008, TLC's 10 years younger was being shot live on location at the Hollywood Highland Mall during our sightseeing outing.  Diana and some of the dancers were asked to be a part of the taping.
