Dance Classes and Private Workshops

• Parade Choreography instructional DVD (available online in May)
• Learn the Disney_® parade choreography in advance.  Receive a video of the choreography to practice the routine at home. Dancers must know the routine by start of the program and be comfortable to perform it down Main Street USA & down Hollywood Blvd inside California Adventure_®.
• Show Choreography instructional DVD (Available online in May)
• Learn the show choreography in advance from the video provided.  Dancers must know the routine by start of program and be comfortable to perform it on the Disney stage.
• Rehearse the parade choreography with Keri Post, who is a professional dance teacher who specializes in working with Summer in L.A. dancers.  She is on faculty with the Disney program since 2011.
• Audition class with top Emmy award winning choreographer Bonnie Story (High School Musical 1, 2 & 3) and and Justine Menter (LMFAO, Keeping Up With the Kardashians) and on faculty at IDA Hollywood, a professional studio home to shows like SYTYCD & America’s Best Dance Crew.  The routine will be reviewed to be able to assess dancers style, level and to stage the Disney_® routine.  Choreography may include various dance styles including Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Jazz and more.
  
• Take a private group class TBA with a top L.A. choreographer from our faculty.  In 2010, it was Hannah Montana dancer Lindsey B who is an amazing choreographer and lots of fun.  Other credits include America's Got Talent Team iLuminate & America's Best Dance Crews Beat Freaks, who were recently on Disney's Shake It Up, Avril Lavigne and Superstars of Dance champions, the Groovaloos. In 2011, it was Ballet with Francisco Gella, one of the top ballet teachers in L.A.
• Take another private group class with one of the professionals from our faculty.  In 2011, it was Hip Hop with choreographer Mihran who did all the dance moves for Theodore in Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 & who recently choreographed some of the Selena Gomez world tour.  Other credits include Madonna, Black Eyed Peas and Britney Spears.
• Classes are small and only a limited number of dancers are accepted.
• Train and rehearse with the industry's hottest choreographers for your Disneyland_® performance.  Choreographers are from popular shows like So You Can Dance,  America's Best Dance Crew, Michael Jackson This is It! dancers and more.
• Disney_® Choreographers are the best in the business, and you will take 2 Master Classes where you will have the opportunity to learn from the best, backstage at Disneyland_®.
• Industry Chat and Q & A with Be Discovered and top professionals.  In 2011, manager Joey Robson (Wade Robson's mom), choreographer Chantal Robson (Happy Feet 2) and actor Dayo Ade of The L.A. Complex and Degrassi fame held informative and fun chats.
• Parade dress rehearsal at Disneyland ® with Dance the Magic staff and all other parade dancers
• Some classes and rehearsals will be held on site at the hotel to avoid extra travel time for dancers which will allow for more dance and down time.  Spectators are not permitted at the classes, workshops or rehearsals.

Leading Industry Guests and Professionals

• Be Discovered President and Talent Director Diana Uribe will head the program all week
• Top L.A. manager Jim Keith of The Movement will sit in on some of the classes/rehearsals to assess the dancers and provide feedback.  He will also conduct an industry chat and Q & A for the parents.
• Chaperones are mature, professional child care providers & dance teachers who are CPR and First Aid Certified.
• Network with industry decision makers, choreographers, stars & back up dancers who are inspirational and provide moral support, guidance and their expertise and love of dance.
• In addition to the star choreographers and dancers that Summer in L.A. dancers meet and work with, past dancers have also met Carmit Bachar of the Pussy Cat Dolls, Dayo Ade of The L.A. • Have intimate and interactive experiences at all private group workshops with industry chats, Q & A's, autograph signing sessions and photo taking opportunities
• Q & A with Disney_® performers and choreographers
• Meeting with top US immigration lawyer Kevin Levine who specializes in helping non U.S. dancers obtain their US work status. Be Discovered referred Tre Armstrong (Missy Elliott, SYTYCDC), Jae Blaze (Dream Girls) and Janet Castillo (Jennifer Lopez), who he assisted to obtain theirs. As a result, they were able to work in the U.S. and be signed by top L.A agents

Auditions and Shows

• Dance down Main Street U.S.A. in front of thousands of Disney_® guests.  This is the only Disneyland_® parade with just dancers, from all over the world
• New for 2012: If 1 parade wasn't enough, you will dance in a 2nd parade down Hollywood Blvd at the California Adventure park_®, currently undergoing a 1 billion dollar expansion and redesign.
• Parade and Disney_® stage show costume, hair and make up with top L.A. stylists as well as at Studio Disney_® 365
• Special Summer Dance Classic Memory DVD featuring the parades & show
• Perform on the Disney Hollywood Backlot Stage_®. If the bright lights of Hollywood are dazzling in your eyes, the recently renovated Hollywood Backlot Stage is the perfect setting for your big break! 
• Attend auditions and/or work on a live set if you fit the type being cast. (time permitting & based on availability).  Shows taped during this time include: So You Think You Can Dance and Mobbed.
• Top L.A. agents will sit in on final rehearsals to assess the dancers
• Watch Disney's_® Aladdin - A Musical Spectacular, with dancing genies, soaring carpets and imagination taking flight, this amazing production brings your favourite characters from Disney's_® Aladdin to the glorious Hyperion Theatre. A show featuring larger-than-life scenes, breathtaking sets, amazing stage effects and an action-packed script. Mesmerizing musical dance numbers and memorable songs from the beloved animated classic make for an unforgettable experience you will love

Sightseeing and Fun

• Travel to Los Angeles, the entertainment capitol of the world from your hometown. You can come on your own as the program is chaperoned or you can join us with your family.  Your family will be able to attend the parades and show to watch you perform.  All workshops, classes and other events are closed to spectators.
• Spend an incredible week surrounded by new friends from all over the world, who share your passion - dance.
• Choreographers, back up dancers and other stars are invited to join us on our outings. Past programs have featured actor Dayo Ade (Degrassi, The L.A. Complex) and Duece the prince of krump (Janet Jackson, So You Think You Can Dance)
• Private, professionally guided tour of L.A. hot spots including Hollywood's Walk of Fame, The Chinese Theatre, Kodak Theatre, Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, stars homes and more

• The Disneyland_® Resort is "The Happiest Place on Earth," featuring two theme parks: The Disneyland_® Park and Disney's California Adventure_® Park. which is currently undergoing major upgrades just in time for our visit.  Downtown Disney_® District is a public esplanade of shopping, dining and family entertainment adjacent to the hotel
• Spend 4 magical days in Disneyland_®. Free time will be available daily between rehearsals, parades and stage show to enjoy the parks.

2. Download the Application Form & Waivers below.
3. Print, complete, sign and make a copy for your records.  Dancers under 18 years old require parental/guardian signature.
4. Mail the original completed Application Form & Waivers along with your payment.  The mailing address is in the Contact Us page.  If you prefer to pay by bank wire, mail in your forms and read this wire transfer to make payment.  To pay by credit card, mail in your forms and click the Buy Now button below.
5. Once you have followed steps 1 - 4, you are done.  Be Discovered will process your forms and payment and will contact you to confirm you as one of the 2012 Summer in L.A.! dancers!
